What is TAO? (pronounced Now, with a D at the front!)

Tao simply translates as "The Way" or the natural path. Be it the lifecycle of a tree, a dolphin, a river or You. All of which are a tiny part of what makes up the Full Tao of Life with all the interconnection and dependencies that allow life to FLOW.

To fully understand Tao you need to see All the paths of All life connected to it's Natural setting and Path. Then add in Humanity's influence, needs and quibbles! Stand back and look through Gods eyes at Life to see the Full Madness and Beauty of it all. The How and The WHY and the Oh My Goodness!!

I first encountered Taoism when I was fortunate to study Tai Chi Chaun last century. One of the first rules is to Know yourself and how You work. From muscle connection to the food you eat and thoughts you have and their effect on your body and beyond. Once you Realize yourself, you then realize your Self in society and all the connections therein and the way they react and affect all, then you start to fully realize Tao.

It's a VERY simple thing with a never ending depth of realization and understanding as you consider the Tao of our Planet and it's place in the universe.

My favourite book is 365 Tao by Deng Ming Dao. Indeed all of his books are essential. But the simplest and best book is The TAO of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff. Not forgetting the TAO TE CHING by the Great Lau T'zu and many other Taoist classics you will find on your Google searches

Good Hunting family!
